Hamlet Poster

Brief

Create an advertisement poster on an upcoming Hamlet production. You must hand illustrate the main element before constructing the final design in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.

Concept

After conducting research, I familiarised myself with the play, Hamlet, and came up with the idea to represent the main concept of the play with a skull and a rose.

Execution

I decided to use white pencil on black paper for a high contrast effect, this was the first time ever using this median of drawing. I drew it up pretty quickly despite this being the first time I had tried this technique. I then used Adobe Photoshop to colourise the rose and add some effects to the petals of the rose. I made the title in Adobe Photoshop then added the other text.
